Plastic recycling is not well understood by the general population. Consequently, there are a lot of misconceptions about what actually can and cannot be recycled. We are plastic recyclers and this admittedly is a plug for our own unique and better reusable grocery bag. First of all, most municipal recycling programs do not accept any kind of reusable bags for recycling. This makes the recycling symbol printed on the tags of these bags meaningless. Reusable bags put into your home recycling will most likely be culled out and thrown away. Second, plastics need to be virtually 100% pure to be recycled by ordinary plastic recycling methods. Plastics that are impure are called contaminated or commingled. We’ve purchased a variety of common reusable bags now being offered at supermarkets, office supply stores, online and other outlets. The tags on many of these bags say that they are 100% pure. When we tested most of these bags, we found that the threads or the handles or the bottom stiffeners used to make these bags are often made from a different material than the bag fabric itself. This renders the bags commingled and in our opinion, not recyclable. A famous grocery chain promotes bags that are made from 80% recycled soda bottles. What they don’t understand is that the other 20% of the bag is another foreign material and that the mixture of these materials creates a commingled product. Sure, using any reusable bag beats using a one time disposable paper or plastic bag but why use a bag that will eventually end up as solid waste when you can use a bag that can be recycled over and over again?

Our better reusable bag is a triple play. It’s made with recycled material. It’s incredibly sturdy and it’s the only reusable bag that’s guaranteed recyclable. We can offer this guaranty because we recycle it! To learn more, please visit our website:

In today’s fierce and competitive market, how can a company sell more cell phones? One response: manufacture “green” phones. At the Seoul World IT show, Samsung (the Korean consumer electronics multinational corporation) offered plans to begin development and sale of two environmental-friendly handsets. The first is the W510. The W510 is constructed from a corn-based bioplastic and is free from hazardous heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium.

This is the earliest Samsung bioplastic-based telephone. However, At the CES in January, it was discovered that Samsung was among several big consumer electronics manufacturers to utilize the unconventional material. Fujitsu showed off a laptop with a bioplastic case. Additionally, 3310 Evolve has been produced by Nokia, a mobile phone partly made from biomaterials.

Removing petroleum-based plastics is a valuable proposal, due to current research, it is common knowledge that corn is an acceptable substitute for fossil fuels and plastics are not a sustainable resource. We hope that Samsung’s newer models will use a more sustainable, futuristic bioplastic, even though we know, the reason behind testing the market for bioplastic with cost-effective corn that is easy to obtain before any decisions are made.

Samsung has come out with a new phone. The company corroborates that this telephone, named the F268, does not contain PVC or (Polyvinyl chloride) or Brominated Flame Retardant, a flame retardant containing bromine (Flame retardants consisting of organic compounds containing bromine). That telephone is an good move in the firm’s scheduled phasing out of polyvinyl chloride and brominated flame retardants in all its portable phones no later than the year 2010.

Samsung has received accolades from Greenpeace for it’s environmentally-friendly electronics. The recent “Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics” is the basis for this. which cites that since March the company has earned a ranking of 7 out of 10. ranking it near the top. Invariably, it also gathered points for its PVC and BFR end of life date. However, while Samsung started to introduce into the market its PVC-free LCD panels last November, it only lost points on the strict Greenpeace ranking system when it faild to install a complete take-back and recycling program.

We are giving some discounts on the various coupons if, you want more information please visit our website www.deals365.us and you save a lot of money.

It has been said by researchers that 1 in 10 people in the UK recycle there old mobile phones.
There is no saying that they are necessarily being thrown in the bin but just lurking around the house in old shoe boxes, draws & cupboards where they are forgotten about.

To bribe the public to hand in there old handsets Networks stores such as Orange, O2, T-mobile etc. were offering money at a minimum of £10 for your old handset. £10 may not seem a lot but its extra money when you are not using it, gathering dust.
Researchers say that Mobile Phone users have owned at least 5 phones on average and whilst only 9% of UK recycle these old phones, it’s not all bad news just 3% of dud phones end up in landfills as they are no use. 48% are kept at home, unwanted and never used, but to be fair, a fair bit of re-using goes on too. 19% of devices are passed on to friends or relatives to be reused and 8% are resold. When it comes to recycling the UK does well- with more respondents claiming to recycle their mobile phones than any other country. A survey was carried out and just 3% of 6500 people said they recycle there unwanted devices, and close to half weren’t even aware that mobiles could be recycled.

So If you have an old mobile phone, pocket yourself £10 and take it to your nearest phone store.

The research demonstrated that our leisure and recreation pursuits account for most of our emissions, rather than a lack of insulation or 4×4 cars. What is interesting about this research is that it found that mobile phone chargers, for example, accounted for between 35 and 70kg per person per year. This is obviously exasperated when mobile phones are fully charge but left on to continue to charge?. Lets face it nearly every mobile phone user is guilty of leaving their phone on too charge over night?

How much of that 35 to 70 kg is wasted effort is the question, how much could you cut down by charging your mobile until it’s full and turning off the charger. Or perhaps another option is to buy an in car charger and whilst damaging the environment driving, charge at the same time at no additional cost to your carbon footprint?

Now in all honesty my last point is not scientifically proven but I do think there is some logic in this point? Another trend which is developing in the mobile market today, that will be driving the carbon footprint is the trend to own more than one mobile phone? We are now seeing that people have mobile phones for there work and personal use and never the twain shall meet. That means the charging, or indeed over charging of two phones. But smart phones like the o2 XDA or the NokiaN95, are multi purpose phones and offer a great solution – but more about that in my next article.

Mobile phone manufacturers are always coming up with new and unique ideas for their next new handset, but Nokia have broken the mould with their new mobile phone concepts. The two mobile phone prototypes that have been announced are called the Nokia Morph and Nokia Remade.

The theoretical Nokia Morph handset would involve nanotechnology, which has been developed between the University of Cambridge and Nokia. Nanotechnology allows things to change shape and size according to their function. Nokia seem to think that some nanotechnology features will be incorporated into mobile phones within the next seven years, so you could be waiting for some time for this unique handset.

The second of the two mobile phones is more likely to be released. The Nokia Remade is exactly what it says it is. It is (mostly) remade from recycled materials. It uses a body of recycled aluminium, rubber and plastic, which reduces the reliability on new materials. The screen has also been redesigned, minimising environmental impact.

It is surprising that none of the other manufacturers have picked up on the recycling concept. It seems at the moment that Nokia are the only manufacturer pushing forward the environmentally friendly mobile phone idea.

Both phones are just concepts at the moment but we should start to see devices containing technology from the Nokia Remade in 2008/2009. Unfortunately we may be waiting a long time for the Nokia Morph to be released, but maybe this is a vision of the mobile phone from the future!

In recent years the issue of climate change and the damage we’re doing to the atmosphere has become a major issue. With particular focus on many of the technological advances that are harming our planet from Gas guzzling cars to leaving our mobile phone chargers plugged in. With many of us more concerned about how we can do our part to save the environment the manufacturers are being pressurised by organisations like Greenpeace to become “greener” and reduce the damage they’re doing to the planet.

Mobile phones are no exception to this effort, with everyone knowing about the radiation caused by mobile phones, coupled with the fact that there are 50 million mobile phones in use in the UK alone, that’s not far off the total population of 60.5 UK residents it all makes for a concern about how we can help cause less damage.

One of the solutions could be one of the many mobile phone recycling schemes in place, mobile operator O2 now sends out prepaid recycling bags with their new handsets for contract customers to send their old mobile phones back. Companies like FoneBak take old mobile phones and are able to salvage components such as copper and gold in order for them to be melted down and reused. Some other companies and charities send old mobile phones to developing countries.

This initiative is incredibly valuable considering that in the UK alone 1,712 mobile phones are upgraded every hour, meaning that there are potentially 41,000 mobile phones gathering dust in a desk drawer somewhere which could be put to good use. This waste is made all the more outstanding when mobile phones are designed to function for in excess of ten years, where we tend to begin lusting after the latest model after just 18 months.

Aside from recycling the mobile phones and donating them this year a new exhibit at the London Science Museum showcased the possible future environmentally friendly applications of our old mobile phones. One such suggestion was for mobile phone circuit boards to be replaced with sheets of lasagne or chicken feathers!

One stand out offering from researchers at Warwick University was a Motorola handset that included metals that broke themselves down for recycling and contained sunflower seed within the cover that meant when the mobile phone was no longer of any use it could simply be planted in the garden.

A company calling itself “Green Mobile” is a fledgling mobile phone operator which will plant five trees for every mobile phone subscription, as well as donating 6% of its turnover to charities, as well as the option to keep your current mobile phone or one of their cheap mobile phones.

So whilst people are still coming round to taking steps towards being more environmentally friendly it’s clear that the mobile phone industry is taking steps towards being more eco-friendly for whenever the customer decides to “go green”

If a mobile phone stops working or the latest model is purchased then many people would simply throw the old one in the bin. Once an old mobile ends up in the bin it will be taken with all our other household rubbish to a rubbish tip or landfill site where it will be dumped and end up rotting away for 10′s if not 100′s of years. Electronic devices like mobile phones contain many toxic materials that when left can cause damage to soil, natural inhabitants, water and even humans.

In order to help our planet, old mobile phones should either be re-used or disposed of correctly. There are currently a few ways in which we can dispose of old mobile phones. The first would be to donate your old phone to charity, once there it will be donated to people who need them more than ourselves.

For many of us donating a mobile phone to charity may not be an option as we all know that some of the latest models may be worth a lot of money and in the current economic climate that extra cash could go a long way. Therefore the next option would be to sell the old phone at one of the many mobile recycling sites that are popping up on the Internet. These sites will give you an instant quote for your old phone based on the model number, then its simply a case of sending it in and waiting for your cheque to arrive. Another great thing about these recycling sites is that they will also accept non working models and still offer you a large percentage of the original price.

Whether you decide to re-use or recycle your old mobile is up to you but either way you can guarantee some extra cash in your pocket and that you are doing some good for the environment that we all live in.

If you have a mobile phone the chances are one day you will want to replace it. You will want to upgrade it to a new more advanced make and model. As is the case that happens millions of times every day all over the world as we replace our mobile phones every 12 to 18 months or buy new ones that replace older models. Because of this there are around 10 million unused mobile phones in circulation lying around somewhere in peoples drawers.

Fortunately because of the awareness that mobile phones can and our having a damaging effect on our environment if they are not recycled or disposed of correctly there are now mobile phone recycling initiatives set up so that people can hand in their old mobiles to be recycled. However because mobile phones are valuable in that they contain precious metals such as Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper and more they are precious to mobile phone companies who can extract and reuse these expensive metals in the making of new mobiles and things.

So any mobile phone can be recycled online and for cash. Even broken mobile phones can still be sold and recycled for money and it’s easy. They say every average home has at least 2 old unused mobiles lying around that can fetch around £20 each. So if you have any don’t let them sit and rot forever! Sell and recycle them for cash online freely to a mobile phone recycling company. There are a good few to choose from all of which vary slightly in the way that they can pay you for your phone. Most pay by Cheque, Bank Transfer, Paypal or even pay out in Gift Vouchers and Store Credit for many high street stores.

Mobile phone recycling sites are free to use and have a free post service and payment is made to you in days after you send you mobile phone in. This is convenient because the other conventional methods of selling mobile phones such as on eBay etc can turn out a little costly and more time consuming. But the process is simple with a mobile recycler.

So if you are looking to make a little extra money for what ever reason. Be it to put towards a bill or for a couple of nights out. Dig out any old mobile phones you have and then sell them all for cash to a mobile recycler . You can speak to family and friends about it and ask if they want to help. You could set up a small club at home or in your community, at school or work or online and see if anyone wants to donate to your their old mobiles and then you can sell and recycle them all. You will be doing a wonderful thing, helping the environment, other people and yourself all at the same time!

Sure you could raise some money for Christmas this way as well. It’s not just mobile phones you can recycle for cash. You can sell and recycle most electrical products for cash including iPhones, iPods, Games and Games Consoles. Inkjet Cartridges etc. There are different types of recycling sites for the different things you want to recycle now a days. These free recycling sites have been proved a God send for many people in today’s frugal climate. It is good to recycle to help the environment but to get money to do so is great!

See a list and review with how to guides and tips and tricks on the top mobile phone recycling sites to use to get cash for old mobile phones and other things on the sellyourmobile.info site where you can find all this and more including a mobile phone price comparison tool that enables you to compare how much each recycling site is offering for your make and model so you can get the most money.
